Choosing the best event management software application is of course a subjective process, but we'll review a few of the more prominent ones below and try and provide some pros and cons.

Ungerboeck Systems

Ungerboeck's event management application is an SaaS (software as a service) model whereby the software is web-based. The advantages here are several fold. First, you never really have to th upgrade the software as they do it for you, upgrades and enhancements are pushed to the site. Second, there isn't a major up-front time cost or fee as they instead charge a monthly licensing fee.  Their solution also providers a CRM component, and can even take the place of other room scheduling software, conference registration software and more.

EventSoft

EventSoft provides downloadable (desktop-based) software that is an alternative to web-based software. An advantage is that you don't need to be connected to the internet to use it, and with some downloadable software you may be able to hack-up the code if desired (but generally only with open-source software). A disadvantage is having to upgrade each time there is a new release. EventSoft does offer a free demo though to try out their product.

ExpectNation

ExpectNation's software application ties in a nice feature where you can create and edit a website for your event, and integrate that with the other components such as registration, scheduling, etc. We're still reviewing their site though and will comment more on pros and cons shortly.
